SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

The EDS Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival, a spectacular three-day event beginning at 4:00pm Friday, September 19th at Oak Point Park, 2801 E. Spring Creek Parkway, will provide spectators an action packed weekend. This week-end event offers something for everyone; Entertainment on the Community Stage and Main Stage, Saturday Evening Spectacular Fireworks Show, Special Kids Activities, and of course the Incredible Hot Air Balloons. The balloons will launch Friday at 6:00pm, Saturday at 7:00am and 6:00pm, and Sunday at 7:00am and 6:00pm (weather permitting).

BALLOONS...The major draw for this Balloon Festival will be the 75 magnificent, colorful, hot air balloons. Fun for all ages, are the Special Shapes that attend the festival. In 2007, the special shapes included: Energizer Bunny, Pandy, Woodrow C. Greenleaf, Miss Daisy, Arabelle the Cow, High Jack, Felix the Cat, and Upside Down Humpty.

BALLOON RIDES…A huge hit at the 2007 Festival was the opportunity for spectators to purchase a balloon ride during the Event. Flights will be offered on a first come first serve basis and will be flown weather permitting and at the pilots discretion.   Projected ride cost will be $250.00 per person.

THRILL SEEKERS...For the adventurous, the RE/MAX parachute team will perform Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons by jumping from their plane over the park and landing right in the middle of the launch field.   Friday and Saturday evening, some of the balloons will provide a breathtaking sight as they inflate and glow after it gets dark. This is a must see!

SPECTATORS...Over the years, the Festival has grown in the number of balloons and in the special activities that are planned for spectators. Concerts will be provided Friday and Saturday evening. We will wrap up Saturday evening with our popular spectacular fireworks show that will dazzle our spectators.

FOOD...oh yes...we have food. Literally something for everyone, and with the variety of items being served this year, no one should leave hungry. Thanks to the participation by over 40 local non-profit agencies, independent vendors, and sponsors we have everything you can imagine. The non-profits that participate provide everything from the famous Plano West Rotary funnel cakes to glow sticks sold at dusk by the Knights of Columbus.

FUN...This event is organized and designed to provide Entertainment for the entire family. The Kid’s Fun Zone is filled with a ‘free Kids Korner’, huge inflatables, and much more. Young and old have much in common when they are enjoying the colorful balloons that will fill the skies over Plano, September 19, 20, & 21. Come make memories for your family!

	The Plano Balloon Festival Inc. is a non-profit 501c3 agency that is dedicated to producing a family oriented, high quality event that offers other local non-profits an opportunity to assist in the operations of the Festival. Our objective is to offer the participating non-profit agencies an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for their programs and services…thus enhancing the quality of life for all of us.
